Project Life App for Android – IT’S HERE!!

Hip...Hip...Hooray...It's Here...It's Here!

I have been using this app on my iPad since it first came out, but I have been waiting for it to come available for Android so that I can put together layouts on my phone especially since here lately most of the pictures that I take are with my phone. I am over the moon excited about this new Android App!

So many of us have been eager for this day to arrive and we are thrilled to finally say that The Project Life® App for Android is LIVE!! We can literally hear the angels (and Android users) singing right now! *wink* While there may be a lot of familiarity for those who have been following our brand for a while and who have seen the Project Life App in action, we know that many will still have questions so we are covering the most frequently asked questions right here, right now.

Q: I don’t really care about the rest of this post. I just want to go GET THE APP! What’s the link?
A: Haha! Here you go: Project Life App in the Google Play Store : )

Q: What is the app? What can it do?
A: It’s life changing. We’ve actually heard this exact statement from many who have been using the iOS version of our app, so we feel fairly confident in saying that it’s a game changer when it comes to the way people are able to document their stories and preserve their memories.
We shook things up when we brought Project Life to market 6 years ago because it provided a simple solution for those overwhelmed by scrapbooking. We did it again in 2014 when we released the Project Life App for iOS devices and today we’re adding our Android friends to the list of those who will finally understand how the app takes simplicity to a whole new level!
Imagine scrapbooking without scissors or adhesive or tools … or without having to print photos! Never before has scrapbooking been so easy, so fast, or so available in the palm of your hand!
Built-in templates and pre-designed artwork allow for scrapbook pages to come together in just minutes. Pull in your photos from your Photo Gallery or Google Photos. There are sooooo many fantastic designer cards to choose from within the app and more being added on a monthly basis. Add some quick journaling notes and you’re done! We’ve even selected a handful of colors that you can use for backgrounds or journaling that will perfectly match whatever collection of cards you choose.
Don’t allow your memories to stay trapped on your device. The best part of this method of scrapbooking is seamlessly sharing completed pages with your friends and family – and, of course, getting those pages printed so you can enjoy actual, real scrapbooks!

Features

  • import photos from your device’s Photo Gallery or Google Photos
  • easily drag + drop photos and cards between spots
  • adjust font style, size, color, and more
  • colored background options
  • lots of page layout options
  • a library of card designs and kits available
  • corners can be rounded or square
  • several 4×6 and 6×8 collage options
  • use talk to text for fast journaling
  • pages in progress automatically save to library
  • completed pages and collages in one place
  • view specific card designs for Project Life collections
  • export and share completed pages

Q: How much does the app cost?
A: It is $2.99 in the Google Play Store. Or as many of our app customers would say … shockingly cheap for what you get.  *wink*

Q: Which Android Operating Systems are supported?
A: We will be supporting Android Operating Systems back to 4.1 (Jelly Bean) through the current OS 6.0 (Marshmallow). We are also working to make it compatible for the Kindle/Amazon marketplace in the near future, but it won’t be available today. Not sure which Android version you have? Look in Settings > About device > Android version and verify that the number listed is greater than or equal to 4.1.

Q: So the app comes with some Project Life cards but not all of them yet?
A: That’s right. There are a handful of them FREE with the app (hooray!). The rest are available for a very low price tag. What’s amazing is that all of the collections that we have released since the iOS version of the app was launched back in September of 2014 are ALL included in this initial Android release … that’s well over 100 collections to choose from!! And each month we’ll be releasing more collections until ultimately we’ll have almost every product we’ve created available in the app.

Q: How do I create a page?
A: It really is SO simple – just dive in, tap around in the app, and you’ll have it figured out in no time! If you’re looking for a little extra guidance, check out our YouTube video that walks you through the basics. It was recorded on an iPad, but all of the basic steps are the same.

Q: Can I edit my photos in the app?
A: We wanted to make sure that the basic functions of the app were running smoothly upon release and we will be adding other features – including photo editing – in future updates. You can edit your photos in another photo-editing app before bringing them into the Project Life App and that will work perfectly.

Q: I’ve purchased kits in the Project Life App on my iPad/iPhone. Can I use those on my Android device now?
A: Since the Apple App Store and Google Play Store are 2 different marketplaces, purchases made in one store cannot be transferred to the other.

Q: I’ve purchased the Project Life App and kits on my phone and want to use them on my tablet, too. Can I do that?
A: As long as both devices are using the same account to make purchases, you can absolutely use them on both devices! Simply open the Google Play Store on the second device, navigate to the Project Life App, and download from there. If you are wanting to download a kit that you purchased on your phone, open the app on your second device, navigate to the library (under “More Kits”), tap on the collection you want to add, and it should inform you that you’ve already purchased it and ask if you would like to redownload it. Heck, yes — you would! *Please note that it can take several minutes for a purchase to show up in the app on a different device. If you don’t see something that you’ve purchased available to download on a new device, give it a few minutes and try again.

Q: I’ve created a page on my phone and want to finish it up on my tablet. Is that possible?
A: Right now there is no 2-way sync between devices. We are working on a solution that will allow you to share pages (and work on pages) between different devices and that will be coming in a future update.

Q: What do I do with the pages once they’re done? What about printing from the app?
A: You can share those pages on social media, export them, and, of course – print them! Our in-app print ordering capability is coming soon to Android, but until then … you can simply export your pages and upload them to your favorite printer or print at home. Regardless of how or where you print, you would then slip those pages into page protectors and into your album! Or get them printed into a printed / bound photo book through your favorite online service. Photo books will also be an option directly through the app this year – yay!

Q: I’m dying to tell my friends about this. What’s the best way to share?
A: We would be thrilled for you to share the love with your friends on social media, thank you! Below is a fun graphic we whipped up for you to share. Save it and spread the word as you please. Be sure to tag me @BeckyHigginsLLC and #ProjectLifeApp so they know where to find information + inspiration for the app!

To be eligible to win the blog candy, you must leave a comment on each stop in the hop as well as hitting that little "follow" button! Winner will be chosen on Sunday, March 8th so you have all week to hop through !

For this hop I am giving away to one lucky winner is this great Project Life Recipe Pages Kit by Becky Higgins. I have one of these myself and I am using it to pulled together all of our families favorite recipes along with pictures, and tips and suggestions to give to my Daughter when she gets married.

So, grab yourself a Latte', sit back and hop along with us as we share our projects with you.

For my recipe, I thought that I would share with you a recipe to make Peach Cobbler in mini mason jars. I made this last year for Easter and it was such a big hit that I will probably make it a tradition for any big family dinner. And if anyone wants to take some home with them all you have to do is put a lid on the jar and it is ready to go.

This is a picture of the cobblers when I pulled them out of the oven.

Here is a picture of the recipe card that I made with both a picture of my cobbler along with the recipe right beside the picture. I printed it out on 4x6 paper so that it was easy just to slide right into a page protector pocket in our families favorites cookbook. And if one of my dinner guest ask for a copy of the recipe, I just have to print off another copy real quick to hand it to them.

Here is the recipe for you...

Mason Jar Peach Cobbler

21 oz Can of Peach Pie Filling
 1/2 Cup of Bisquick Mix
1/2 Cup of Milk
1/2 Cup of Sugar
A Pinch of Salt
1/4 Cup of Melted Butter

*Preheat oven to 375 degrees
*Spray 4 of the 4 oz Mason Jars with Cooking Spray and
place them on a Cookie Sheet
*In a bowl combine the Bisquick Mix, Milk, Sugar and Salt
*Then stir in the Melted Butter
*Put approx. 3-4 Peach Slices/Filling in each Mason Jar
*Top each Mason Jar with 1-2 TBSP of the Batter
*Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden and bubbly

I hope that you enjoy my recipe as much my family and myself have.

Your next stop will be with...
